The specification document for the insendi platform is as follows:

### Programme and course development

The programme and course development functionality will enable the Licensee to:

- Create areas within the Licensee’s instance of the platform at the ‘programme of study’ level.
- Create areas within the ‘programme of study’ level for individual courses.
- Create materials within the course area comprising a series of weeks, screens and activities.

### Course delivery

The platform will enable the Licensee to deliver courses to students. This will include:

- **Administration**  
  - The ability to add/remove students/staff to programme and course areas  
  - The ability to create and modify groups of students  
  - The ability to post messages to students via the newsfeed areas  
  - The ability to upload files to the platform for access by students  
  - The creation of a programme support page for the provision of administrative information  
  - The creation of a class list
- **Teaching**  
  - The ability for students to access and interact with materials created via the Course Development Toolkit  
  - The ability for teaching staff and administrators view and monitor the progress of students through the course materials  
  - The ability to post messages to students via the newsfeed areas
- **Assessment**  
  - The ability to grade activities in the platform
